DINNING
Dining takes place in either The Queen's Room, with its barrel-vaulted ceiling dating back to the 12th century and open fire, or The Great Room, built in 1165 by Bishop Luffa of Chichester; a fine example of Norman architecture with its high lancet windows, open fireplace, oak flooring, tapestry and suits of armour.
The dress code for the dining room is smart casual, with no jeans or trainers.
Please note, well behaved children aged 8 years and over are welcome to dine in the restaurant. For children under the age of 8, a private dining room can be arranged at no extra cost.

Hastings and Rye are located on the top floor of the 17th-century manor house, with exposed original beams; views from out of the leaded windows look upon the Castles grounds.
The Arundel and Amberley Rooms are both appointed with luxurious bathrooms and have separate walk-in showers and baths. These bedrooms are complemented by original granite fireplaces. Both rooms are located off the Gallery Landing on the first floor of the manor house. Arundel boasts stunning cathedral windows and Amberley a feature window seat offering views from the leaded windows onto the Castles grounds.
Amberley Castles is completely enclosed by its old wall, and retains a portcullis that gets lowered at night. You can climb the ramparts for stunning views, play tennis on site, and there is also a croquet lawn to enjoy.
The Lewes Room features a four-poster bed and luxurious bathroom with separate walk-in shower and bath. This room also offers a separate lounge area with panoramic south-facing views of the dry moat, lakes and countryside beyond.
The Herstmonceux has access to the 14th-century battlements and has a luxurious bathroom with a separate walk-in shower and bath. Views are of the Castles grounds. Both Lewes and Herstmonceux are located on the top floor of the Tower House Mews. Arundel can be requested as a twin-bedded room. Lewes can accommodate one rollaway bed. Chichester and Lewes have four-poster beds.

Sitting on the grounds of Sussex's Honeybridge Estate, just on the edge of the South Downs National Park, is The Cottage. A truly beautiful and historic property, The Cottage's exterior showcases its Tudor heritage, as rose bushes line the walls of the original exposed oak beams. The interior is equally as impressive, with period features - such as timber beams, vaulted ceilings, and an inglenook fireplace - being perfectly complimented by a combination of antique furniture, varied artwork, and modern conveniences. The grounds of the estate are over 17-acres and it has numerous activities such as tennis, croquet, and fishing on offer to keep guests occupied, ensuring that leisure and comfort are catered to in equal measure. There is a spacious, open planned living and dining area with a large set of windows which bathe the room in light and offer gorgeous views out over the garden. The country kitchen is fully equipped and also has ample seating, making for the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast with your loved ones. The Cottage can comfortably accommodate eight guests (five adults and three children). There are three bedrooms, each sitting beneath timber framed, vaulted ceilings. The renowned Knepp Estate’s wilding project is in the neighbouring village of Dial Post. A 25-minute drive away you will come across the market town of Arundel. This beautiful medieval town is famed for its huge and incredibly well-preserved castle, with a history stretching all the way back to 1067. Spend your days exploring the Sussex countryside and coastline, before relaxing in the hot tub or in front of a roaring fire in the evenings. The Barn has been designed as an upside down house, with the bright and spacious living areas on the first floor. This makes the most of the beautiful architectural features of the building, such as the exposed oak beams, high ceilings and the panoramic tree top views, creating an enjoyable space for friends and family to share. There’s a well-equipped contemporary-style kitchen with two ovens and a large central island so everyone can get stuck in and lend a hand at meal times.
