This collection of five fabulous cottages that are found in a beautiful country location nestled within a 260 acre organic estate in Crewkerne, Somerset. Hire between one and five properties, along with the accompanying games barn, and you've got the perfect retreat in the countryside. Surrounded by lush rolling hills and magical woodland valleys, these cottage have stunning views across an idyllic rural setting. Explore the myriad of natural paths or discover the medieval Castle Hill, before relaxing in your private courtyard overlooking the cattle-filled fields. Just a short drive away from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast in Devon and Dorset, it is perfectly positioned for seeing the best of South West England. Each of the cottages have been finished to an exceptional standard and have a contemporary open-plan design with an array of original features. High vaulted ceilings are joined by exposed brickwork and rustic beams, while pure white walls add a light and modern-feel. Galleried bedrooms and handcrafted touches add to the sense of grandeur and make these historic cottages something you’ll always remember. Each of the cottage have one spacious open room with a large living area and a striking mezzanine floor. Sumptuous seats are flooded with light from above and sit afore a quality dining table and a bespoke kitchen area. Quality oak floors are fitted with an expert craftsmanship, while traditional techniques add to their authentic finish. A deluxe bathroom can also be found in each of the barns, showcasing sleek fittings and a stylish design. Upstairs, the barns each have a lovely double bedroom which overlooks the comfortable ground floor living area.     The canal that winds through the peaceful countryside just south of Bath is great for an afternoon stroll, but why walk when you can take the boat? When you arrive at Hunky Dory, Clare and Hibah, who renovated the boat themselves over three years of loving labour, will teach you all you need to know about piloting and canal etiquette (no license needed!) so even complete beginners will be set to sail. The essential handover will take a couple of hours, so it’s best to arrive as early as you can, then once you’re comfortable being on the water you’ll be left to your own devices but there's a handy guide to refer to if you need. Rumble down to other moorings, or set up a deck chair on the grass by the towpath and chat with passers-by. There are a few good pubs within cruising distance. Clare and Hibah specially recommend the Boatman’s Breakfast at The Lock Inn, and the Bathampton Mill, closest to your original mooring, for sunshine drinks in the garden.While there’s a joy to chugging down the canal for the day, Hunky Dory Days is a lovely place to be even when you’re moored up. Clever and colourful design in everything from the wallpaper to the Hunky Dory Days mugs make the boat a homely space. The bathroom is small, but the shower is hot and you’ll get the hang of swiveling the loo out of the way in no time! If you stay for more than a few days, the loo might need emptying too, but Clare and Hibah will talk you through that as well. Covers at both ends of the boat mean you can drive or just sit and relax in any weather, while good insulation keeps the inside warm. The kitchen has gas hobs and everything you need for cooking, as well as the all-important kettle, so you can sit out on deck with a cup of tea as the fields slide gently by.

    Croftview is a fabulous, purpose-built holiday home nestled in a 1,200 acre country estate in the heart of the rolling Somerset Hills. With 13 ensuite luxury bedrooms sleeping up to 30 in total this home would be a wonderful destination for a large family reunion, a celebratory get together or an all-inclusive wedding. Despite its size Croftview feels like a home rather than a giant hotel and as you arrive in the courtyard you'll be pleasantly surprised by how pretty the building and exterior lawns are. Inside is spacious and light, stylishly decorated with wonderful traditional touches such as the exposed beams, and every room has its own theme and colours making it feel warm and welcoming. Gather together in the vast open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, an impressive, carefully thought out space where everyone can unwind with a drink and nowhere feels crowded. The kitchen is a chef's dream with five slide and hide integrated cookers, five ovens, a boiling water tap and a huge US style fridge/freezer and several dishwashers ensuring you have everything you could possibly need to feed a big party without hassle. Sleeps 18 🛏️ Dog-friendly 🐾 Cossington Park Estate has been family owned for 400 years and the two Grade II listed homes in its grounds have all the historic charm you could hope for with modern amenities where it matters. This glorious historic estate would be perfect for a large celebration, family gathering or retreat. Park House is the larger of the two properties and has all the impressive presence of a country estate whilst also being extremely cosy and inviting. It is home to six beautiful bedrooms with charming names such as Chaucer, Trusty Servant and Jolly Monks. There is also an additional space called Pooh's Corner where two extra sofa beds have been provided. Park Cottage, which is equally lovely on a much smaller scale, has an additional three bedrooms and is wheelchair accessible making it the ideal place for older members of the family or couples seeking a little privacy. Most of the rooms have ensuites and there's a family bathroom too so no need to queue. The kitchen with its blue Aga and original beams has the feel of a farm kitchen with seating at two large country tables, plenty of room for cooks and helpers and everything you could need to create some wonderful meals.
