Experience the magical ruggedness of the Lake District from the comfort of this peaceful and luxurious B&B. Choose from one of six stunning rooms - all stylish, luxurious, comfortable and cosy. It's the perfect space to hunker down and take in the spectacular surroundings or return to after long days hiking the trails. Each is named Lake District-appropriate, from Fell to Tarn to Herdwick, and, while they all share wonderful views and high-standards of luxury and comfort, the room interiors are as different as the names. And while the decor and layout may differ, each room is ensuite with oodles of hot water, gorgeous complimentary smellies and fluffy towels and bathrobes. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer wonderful views of the surroundings and underfloor heating and sheepskin rugs ensure visitors are cosy throughout their stay. Wake to the sun's rays gently warming the face and the sound of the birds beginning their day. Make a morning coffee courtesy of the handy Nespresso machine (kettles are also provided for those hankering after a proper cuppa), hop back into bed, or settle into the comfy armchairs and watch the weather roll over before heading to breakfast. After demolishing a hearty breakfast, guests are fully-fuelled for a day exploring the tarns, fells, lakes and pubs of this breathtaking national park.     By Lake Windermere in the stunning Lake District are five luxury holiday cottages in the grounds of The Swan Hotel. Known as ‘The Nests’, each enjoys spectacular views across the beautiful surrounding countryside. The largest of the cottages is The Dormouse, which sleeps up to eight people (six adults and two children). Here there are two super king-size bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, plus a children’s bunk room with four single beds. There is also a further family bathroom. Meanwhile, the living quarters consist of the sitting room with log burner and flat screen TV, as well as a fully equipped kitchen/diner with a range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. Outside is the private terrace with an outdoor fireplace. The Hedgehog, The Mallard, and The Owl Nest all have a similar spec, although vary slightly. They also sleep eight people, with two super king-size and en-suite bedrooms. The children’s bunk room has two singles, while there is a further super-king room which can also be set up as a twin if required. Once again there is a sitting room with log burner, kitchen/diner, and private outdoor terrace. In all four cottages guests are greeted by a welcome pack consisting of essentials, including homemade cake and biscuits. Finally there is The Love Nest. This exquisite studio cottage has been designed to be the perfect romantic getaway for two people. It has a super-king bed, while the bathroom has both a roll top bath and a double walk-in shower with a rainforest head. Bright and airy in its design, there is a log burner inside and a private terrace with a fireplace outside. The interior has been thoughtfully decorated to provide a cosy nook with everything you could need to burrow in and leave the world behind. The kitchen is fully equipped for the creation of wonderful feasts and the hosts have kindly provided a wine cooler to keep things extra civilised. Enjoy a long, lazy supper at the unique marble dining table which seats four. Afterwards you can snuggle up and watch a movie, perhaps crack open the monopoly, chess or dominoes, or maybe just get back to that view. You'll sleep deeply and peacefully in the comfortable king size bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding and in the morning you can watch the news from the comfort of your duvet on the Sony TV.
