It’s a wonderful destination for keen walkers and there are lots of routes which you can follow right from your front door. Just behind the Roundhouse, there’s 250 acres of moorland which is home to a thriving population of wildlife, from kestrels and sparrowhawks hunting above you to ducks swimming gracefully on the surface of the water. Any whisky lovers might want to take a trip to Glengoyne Distillery which is only five miles away and offers tours and tastings all year round. Also nearby, you’ll find even more walking opportunities in the Loch Lomond National Park or head to Glasgow for a change of pace.
