Ark Buffalo
£250 per night
The idyllic rural location provides the ideal escape from the stresses and strains of modern life, a moment to kick back and relax in a truly peaceful rural setting.
The friendly farm owners have been busily cultivating their land over the past 20 years, using their herd of Indian water buffalo to help generate healthy soil, planting thousands of native trees, digging ponds, painstakingly restoring rivers, and encouraging an abundance of wildlife.
You’ll find the same sustainable ethos running through the private, dog-friendly camp, including structures lovingly crafted from reclaimed materials.
Enclosed by cob and thatch walls in the farm’s 200 year-old kitchen garden, up to 6 guests can rest their weary heads in an exquisite yurt, especially crafted by the resident Yurt-Master Stephen, and Jabba the (shepherd’s) hut, expertly created from salvaged and recycled materials.
Bringing extra guests? There’s plenty of room for them to pitch their own tents, or park their campervans in the meadow.
Along with direct access to the shimmering water meadow and stream, you’ll have two washrooms to choose from, both with hot showers and toilets. There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen, and a large charcoal barbecue for those essential sizzling sunset suppers.
What else could you possibly need? Well, how about acres of stunning, wide-open rural space, and some of the most epic sunrises and sunsets you’ll ever clap eyes upon? With plenty of sustainably coppiced firewood included every evening too, you’re free to toast marshmallows and sing campfire songs until the stars appear.
