This newly-renovated holiday cabin is surrounded by nature and is just a short drive to some of Devon’s most spectacular and wild beaches, making it the perfect spot to disconnect from everyday life and slow down the pace a little. The cabin blends in perfectly with its surroundings with its beautiful wood cladding, surrounded by the trees, rivers and brooks of South Hams. Inside, you’ll find designer decor, a cosy wood-burner and a luxurious free-standing bath in the master bedroom offering the perfect way to unwind in style. To reach the Den in the Woods you must first navigate through ancient woodland, over stone bridges and past gently flowing streams. Step inside and you’ll find yourself in a beautifully designed, open-plan living area. Huge windows flood the space with natural light and offer a view of the treetops, giving the impression you’re high in the canopy. A deep, comfy sofa sits in front of the wood-burner for cosy evenings in with a movie and there’s a dining area just next to the kitchen. The beautifully furnished master bedroom is both luxurious and relaxing with a king size bed and the aforementioned freestanding bathtub. The dark wood behind the bed contrasts wonderfully with the white walls and ceiling, adding an extra layer of sophistication. The second bedroom features twin beds and there is a stylish bathroom with a rainfall shower for bracing morning soaks. Step through the big double doors in the lounge and out onto the deck for a bit of alfresco dining amongst. In the evenings follow the trail up to the shared meadow and get the fire pit going. If you want to get out and about there’s plenty to do in the local area. The location is perfect for those who love the outdoors and the Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is just two miles away. It’s the largest natural freshwater lake in the south west and a haven for wildlife with circular walks taking you around the water. Just next to the nature reserve, there’s a huge sweeping beach where you can splash around in the sea or lie back in the sunshine. There’s also easy access to the South West Coastal Path which is a great way to explore more of the area. Local market towns with their pubs, cafes, restaurants and independent shops include Dartmouth, Totnes and Kingsbridge, and all are within a 30-minute drive.
