- 1 night
£240.00 up to £600 per night
For a taste of Cornish contemporary cool, Watergate Bay is hard to beat. Positioned looking out on the ocean just three miles from Newquay, this fine hotel considers every element to make your stay special, from the faultless design to spa treatments and irresistible food and drink options. This rugged stretch of coast is full of places to explore, and Watergate Bay encourages guests to get out and do just that. Plenty of local influences can be found on the menus at Zacry’s, the hotel restaurant where you will enjoy breakfast each morning, as well as the inviting sea-view bar, The Living Space. There are European and American dishes too, and the summer sees locally caught lobster as one of the star attractions. Fresh décor and great amenities are found in a range of rooms and suites, including those specially designed for families, with separate space for the children. Standard rooms come with TV and DVD, iPod dock, en suite with bathrobes and luxury toiletries, free Wi-Fi and more, and there are bigger and better rooms with balconies, and suites with free-standing baths (right in the window too, so you can really enjoy that view). Another fine feature of Watergate Bay is the swim club, with a 25m infinity pool, a hot tub on the terrace, cardio and treatment rooms and its own café bar. Check out the yoga and pilates classes while you’re there, as well as swim clinics and surf courses to improve your technique in the pool or out at sea. The Beach Hut is another of Watergate Bay’s appealing hangouts, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner just a stone’s throw from the sand. Enjoy a coffee on the deck, a glass of wine inside, or vice versa – it’s a buzzing spot where you can soak up the atmosphere of coastal life. All kinds of events take place throughout the year, including polo on the beach, surfing championships and live music. Needless to say, the hotel is a popular choice for weddings, parties and other private gatherings, with a magnificent cliff-top terrace overlooking the Atlantic giving their event space something extra-inspiring. Barely five minutes from Newquay Airport and with the likes of Padstow, Port Isaac and the Eden Project all easily accessible, Watergate Bay takes the Cornish beach holiday to a whole new level of unforgettable.
