Built in the 1930s to resemble a boat, this unique and historical property’s decor is in keeping with its past and some of its original furniture has been maintained. Located in the rugged landscape and dunes of Jersey’s only national park, the property sleeps up to six guests. The large lounge and diner is the social hub of Barge Aground, complete with walnut wooden floors, comfy double sofa bed that sleeps two, and a dining table seating up to six. Light floods into this space via numerous windows that also look out across the beautiful shoreline. Leading off of the living area at the brow of the property is the kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and microwave, as well as the family bathroom with shower. There are a two bedrooms found in the stern, which are both adult twin bunk rooms with single beds. Whether getting away with family or friends, or enjoying a romantic break, there are options to fit all requirements. Stairs leading up from the living space go onto the roof terrace which offers further fantastic views, while there is also a private patio with outdoor furniture which has direct access to the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes dotted along the beachfront of St Ouen, as well surf schools for those who want to hit the waves. On the other side is a nature reserve, which leads through fields of native orchids and is teeming with bird life whatever the time of year. Barge Aground may be located on the western tip of the island, but with Jersey only being a small island, it is easy to explore. For history lovers there are unique castle experiences, from Mont Orgueil to Elizabeth. Jersey also has around 4,000 years of military history, from the medieval times right up until the German occupation during the Second World War. It is also the perfect place to reconnect with nature in peace and tranquility with many walking routes to discover.
