The safari tent lodges at Wonderfully Wild are a classic safari style with plenty of added Welshness, including slate hearths from local quarries and warm woollen rugs in the spacious living areas, not to mention the mountain views of Snowdonia from the outside decks. Derw, at one end of the field (and closest to the car park), is Welsh for Oak, and then there’s Castan (Conker), Onnen (Ash) and Jacmor (Sycamore) at the far end. In an adjacent field, you will find Wennol (Swallow) and Cadno (fox). As well as the private showers, toilets and fully-equipped kitchens in each one, owners Victoria and Robin have toured the auctions to fill the lodges with quality upcycled furniture. You’re surrounded by 200 acres of fields, woodland and streams – in fact the nearest stream to splash in actually borders the field where you’ll be staying. The Telor Cycle Route borders another side of the field and is a great way to explore this corner of Anglesey. It’s a short drive to a choice of beaches, or just 40 minutes’ walk will take you to the lovely seaside town of Beaumaris – perfect for a day out with comfy beds and a big chest of board games to come back to in the evening.
