The Queens Hut

0

£310.00 up to £440.00 per night

This picture perfect log cabin in a forest teeming with wildlife is a fantastic rural escape. Spot red squirrels and ospreys before stepping out to the banks of the loch for lazy days by the water's edge. Built for Queen Mary, King George IV's wife, this stunning property really is fit for royalty. Dunecht Estates have renovated the Hut, keeping it up to date with modern styles and conveniences, yet have worked hard to protect its heritage. On arrival guests follow the meandering private driveway through towering pines trees down to the banks of a shimmering freshwater loch where the Queen’s Hut emerges, blending in perfectly with its surroundings. Twin iron benches and tables are found at the front of the Hut where guests can rest tired feet and take in views of the water. The interior is sumptuous with elegant furnishings throughout. Visitors arrive in the blue shaker-style kitchen that is well equipped with an island and stools for enjoying breakfasts and light suppers. A formal dining table is found in the sitting room, which is exquisitely furnished with classic sofas and tweed upholstered chairs, and antlers mounted on walls next to framed prints and portraits. Wildlife watch from the large window seat, dine in comfort at the expansive dinner table for 6 or cosy up in front of the log burner with an after dinner dram, this room has everything you need to unwind and switch off from the outside world. The master bedroom is simply stunning with a chaise lounge at the end of the king sized bed. A large, freestanding copper tub stands in the window where guests can soak in the hot, sud-filled water while watching the squirrels play and listening to the birdsong. The cabin is totally secluded so privacy is guaranteed. A further bedroom has twin beds which may be joined to make a double. With peaceful surroundings and dark skies, luxury linens and mattresses, a good night's sleep is assured. There is plenty to do to keep guests occupied at the Hut, with walking paths just beyond the garden gate and just a 15 minute walk away the popular The Boat Inn where guests can enjoy a few drinks or some hearty grub. The Hut is near the Scottish Castle Trail and salmon fishing is available nearby on the Birse Beat of the River Dee.
