Hut 1898 is a grand and opulent shepherds hut that offers plenty of space for guests to spread out and relax in style. The luxury oversized monsoon shower has pretty mosaic tiles which surround a glass panel providing a view of the lake. It's big enough for two, and as with every part of this gorgeous hut, no detail has been overlooked, including the heated towel rails. Step out of the hot steaming water, wrap yourself in a warmed robe and help yourself to the fully stocked antique gin bar, before settling down to dry in front of the wood burner. Hut 1898 provides the perfect meeting of old time charm and modern convenience, ensuring guests can enjoy a comfortable and relaxing break. Step out through huge glass doors onto the deck and be treated to a little oasis of woodland with your own private garden. Out here you'll find a hot tub of wood and metal which fits seamlessly into the setting, and views of the entire lake, up to the wooded hills beyond. Pop back in to the bar and get a top up before taking advantage of the pizza shed and eating al fresco in the bamboo den fire pit area. This place is truly wonderful and allows you to be part of the wilderness without feeling like you're out in the wild. Enjoy your homemade pizza with a few glasses of wine, and as darkness falls and owls hoot, climb into the hot tub and marvel at the sounds and sights from your own private haven with fairy lights twinkling all around. Before bed, throw some complimentary marshmallows on the fire pit, then snuggle up in the delightfully cosy bedroom and watch your favourite film. Or maybe turn off the lights, switch on the DAB radio, and let the sound of the shipping forecast lull you to sleep. Crewkerne is a market town situated two miles to the east where you'll find a Waitrose and plenty of independent shops. One mile north is Hinton St George, a picturesque village with an award winning gastro pub, ‘The Lord Poullett Arms’. Lyme Regis is also a 30 minute drive away. We recommend having lunch at the Town Mill Bakery or the Mill Tea & Dinning Room, followed by a visit to the microbrewery and art gallery housed in an old water mill. You can enjoy dinner at Hix Oyster and Fish House while you watch the sun go down.
