Kingfisher's Nest

0

£240.00 up to £280.00 per night

Set on the banks of a hidden lake, just six miles from Colchester, Kingfisher’s Nest is the perfect place to escape from it all. Surrounded by nature and with gorgeous views across the water, it’s hard to imagine a more tranquil scene. The cabin also has its own sauna, hot tub and a beautiful freestanding bathtub, all with stunning views overlooking the lake. The cabin has been designed for two with a luxurious king-size master bedroom. There are two huge floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedroom overlooking the lake, so you can sit up in bed with your morning coffee and watch the mist rising from the water. The freestanding bathtub is also in the bedroom, perfectly positioned in front of one of the windows so you can make the most of the view. You’ll find the sauna and the shower in the ensuite bathroom. If you do want to bring some friends or family along, there is the flexibility to sleep an additional two guests in the open-plan living area by converting the chair and sofa into extra bedding. This beautiful living space features comfy seating gathered around a wood burner with a good supply of logs to keep you cosy in the evenings. There’s also a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven, hob and a fridge. One side of this space is fronted by sliding glass doors, providing spectacular views of the lake and opening out onto the decking. Outside on the decking, there is some outdoor furniture where you can enjoy a barbecue on sunny afternoons. There is also a hot tub in prime position for soaking up the view. If you can tear yourself away from the cabin and your secluded haven, there’s plenty to do in the local area. From walks in the neighbouring ancient woodland to exploring Colchester’s vibrant high street. This historic town has a rich history and a beautiful Norman castle to discover, as well as a zoo and plenty of great restaurants. If you fancy a day at the seaside, take a trip to Frinton on Sea or sample the delicious seafood at Mersea Island. There’s also the Colne Valley Steam Railway Museum nearby where you can have a go at driving a steam train.
