A big comfy sofa sits in the middle of the living area in front of a woodburner and a set of French doors so you can curl up and enjoy the view. You’ll also find a big leather armchair next to a well-stocked cabinet of books and guests are encouraged to bring a book to swap with something on the shelves. There’s also a double firepit 60 meters from the cabin with a grill and hot plate, perfect for cooking outdoors during the warmer months. You’ll find some lovely trails through Bedgebury Pinetum for walking and cycling or you might want to tackle the 12.5 miles around Bewl Water Reservoir, the largest stretch of open water in the South East. You can also swim in the reservoir, try your hand at trout fishing or head to the aqua park if you fancy some watersports.

Cliff End Fort

£2,310.00 up to £3,850.00 per week
Cliff End Fort is a spacious and brilliantly located house with a fantastic sea-facing view where you'll find Jurassic footprints and petrified forests at low tide. It would be an excellent choice for a family of six, a group of friends or three couples wanting a holiday a stone's throw from the beach. The ground floor is a large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area with two sets of big bi-folding glass doors that flood the property with light and provide a fabulous view of the sea across the way. The kitchen area is large and fully equipped with everything you could need to prepare a magnificent feast. There's a marble breakfast bar for casual morning meals, and a long wooden dining table for relaxed dinners by candlelight. The living area is warm and welcoming with big large comfy sofas, two armchairs and a smart TV for movie nights with popcorn. On chilly evenings, after a bracing walk, curl up by the open fire with a good book or just lie back and watch the sea roll in. You'll also find a power shower downstairs, perfect for warming up after a bit of cold water swimming in the morning and the underfloor heating throughout will keep your toes nice and toasty. When it's time for bed you'll find three good sized rooms upstairs, two of which have views of the sea and a balcony from which to enjoy it. The Blue Room has a super-king size bed, a dressing room and an ensuite with shower. The Yellow Room is a French-style king size room with an ensuite boasting a shower and bath tub, as well as a wall mounted smart TV for lazy morning's in bed with a cup of tea. The third room is a little smaller but has a large king size bed with big wardrobes and use of the downstairs power shower. All of the rooms are well presented and decked out with Egyptian cotton bedding and excellent mattresses. Fall asleep with the sound of the sea to lull you, and in the morning head down for a hearty breakfast which, on sunny days, you can enjoy outside in the garden at a very big table with that wonderful view of the sea reminding you you're on holiday. You might like to go for a morning walk, or dip, before heading back to make plans for the day. Those plans might just be beach, eat, repeat. With a nap thrown in. As well as the amazing nearby beaches, where you can try your hand at kite surfing or simply relax on the sand, Camber is very close to the historic town of Rye. Rye has ancient cobbled streets, plenty of independent shops and an excellent pub, The George, where you can stop for a long lunch and a pint. The hosts also recommend Dungeness Fish Hut for seafood and the Lazy Baker for bread and pastries. Salt, the local farm shop, is also great for stocking up on produce. If you're in the mood for some pampering, Rye has two spa facilities, and if you're feeling especially indulgent you can book Sophie Kingsley, a travelling masseur, to come to the house!
