Located in the heart of Cornwall on a 12-acre smallholding, Log Jam is a cosy, romantic escape for couples looking to get away from it all. This gorgeous, unique log cabin is set in a peaceful valley in the hamlet of Menherion and is surrounded by miles of Cornwall’s rugged beauty. The cabin and the location invite you to switch off from the hustle and bustle and reconnect with the nature around you. Log Jam is also hand-built by the owners with sustainability in mind, so guests can rest assured knowing they can enjoy an eco-friendly stay! Couples will love the secret hidden bedroom, the cosy log burner, and the big leather sofa that looks out onto the gorgeous surrounding woodland. Inside, the cabin is warm and welcoming with shelves well stocked with books. The living area is a fantastic space to cuddle up with a good book, or sit and chat with your loved one whilst looking out at the woodland scenery. This space is also fully insulated, meaning you don’t need to worry about staying toasty and warm, whatever season it is. And when the weather’s warm you’ll definitely want to lounge in the hammock with a book listening to the sound of the birds. There’s also a little bar in front of one of the windows which makes a great breakfast nook or could be used as desk space if you’re looking to catch up on some work or do some writing. Guests will love the fully equipped kitchen, as well as the range of cookery books offering up some inspiration. The woodburner features an oven, providing a bit of a twist to your cooking experience. Or, you could try cooking over the open flames on the fire pit outside. Barbecue tools and a generous supply of kindling and firewood will be ready to get you started and more can be purchased on site. You’ll find the bedroom through a hidden door, a wonderfully unique touch, and this cosy hideaway features a luxurious king size bed, complete with an eco mattress guaranteeing you and your loved one a fabulous night’s sleep. In the bathroom, there’s a hot shower and a compost loo and the fluffy towels will be nice and toasty for you on the electric towel rail. The cabin is ideally located for exploring as much or as little of Cornwall as you like. It feels remote enough that you can happily hide away in your little piece of Menherion and forget about the world around you. However, it’s accessible enough that you can get to some of Cornwall’s best loved attractions in no time at all. Hop in the car and you can be in St. Ives, Land’s End or the Eden Project in under an hour.
